Dear HARC,

In addition to the very important HARC-specific volunteer needs
recently communicated by Ben Adams KK6SYL for assistance at the
HARC Mobile Communication Trailer, there is a need for other Ham
radio volunteers to help with the 2022 Great ShakeOut drill either
at the Humboldt OES Emergency Operations Center or as a
field-based reporter on the day of the drill. Please see the
following for more information and for a link to volunteer.

Locally, Humboldt County Office of Emergency Services is
collaborating with numerous county, state, and federal agencies,
along with some local community based organizations, to provide a
training opportunity to practice real-life communication scenarios
for a large earthquake event. Volunteers are needed for this local
preparedness drill.

To participate as a volunteer, you have the option of
reporting from the field or assisting at the OES Emergency
Operations Center or Mobile Communications Trailer.

Licensed Hams are especially needed as field-based
reporters to check-in via either VHF on the Far West Repeater
System, or via 75m phone HF on the morning of the drill to help
test our local emergency communication capabilities. This
participation should only require a few minutes of your time on
October 20.
